and granite sculpture of Jim Henson and Kermit the Frog.

Carpenter recently won three national competitions to create public works. These include an eight-foot bronze of State Comptroller Louis Goldstein for the State Capitol in Maryland, and an over life-size bronze and granite sculpture of Jim Henson and Kermit the Frog for the University of Maryland.

"The Jim Henson Memorial" is now complete. Dedication was September, 24th, 2003, Jim's birthday. It was installed in front of the Student Union Building at the University of Maryland.

Carpenter is now sculpting a portrait bust of Washington College President, Dr. John Toll, to be completed in bronze in April 2004.

Saint Anne's Catholic Community in Barrington, IL commissioned Carpenter to create its twelve-statue Community of Saints and Holy People, which now adorns the new worship space. The first four of these sculptures were dedicated at the consecration of the new building in April of 2000. One of which, St. Patrick, is shown on the right in the studio in progress. The last of the sculptures was installed in December 2002.
